To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific part or subject of Pillars of Eternity, use the alternate formatting: (#s "Stuff happens") I think there was a reddit post that they noticed that some players. Spoiler tags can be used by typing followed immediately by (#s "xxxxxx"), with the content of your spoiler inside the quotation marks. Im so glad the humans got new portraits, many of the old portraits had flaws in. No story spoilers in titles! Mark threads or links that contain spoilers with a tag in the title. Pillars of Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPGs. Paying homage to the great Infinity Engine games of years past: Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment. Pillars of Eternity and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire are isometric, party-based RPGs set in a new fantasy world developed by Obsidian Entertainment. VO might have a correlation to bad writing, but it's not a causation.Welcome to the Pillars of Eternity Subreddit! VO doesn't make you write fundamentally broken plots or bad characters, it doesn't make you write bland and unimaginative quest designs, it doesn't cause you to remove RPing system and elements that provide meaningful tools for the player to use. Right off the bat, I appreciated the character creation and the ability to really chose your characters past and it not being the usual amnesiac that doenst. ![]() The next part of my journey in a genre that Ive slept on (CRPGs) is Pillars of Eternity, one of the two big CRPG franchises in recent years. Those that don't usually have a lot of other more questionable choices that effect writing and dialogue options than just VO. Pillars of Eternity is a great but safe CRPG. Plenty of games have managed to do both well. A game has bad writing and choices because it has bad writing and choices, not because it has VO. I've never fully agreed with that fear or belief, especially if the player character is silent. I'm not worried VO will impact writing and choices. BioWare might have the budget for that, but not many others, least of all Obsidian. That's just a huge waste as even just a male and female VA would cost a ton, not even counting multiples. ![]() I doubt anyone wants character dialogue voiced.
